Our Services

The Cleveland Chesed Center, a joint project of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and private philanthropists, in partnership with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, is here to assist individuals and families in the Jewish community with food, clothing and many of their household needs.

Testimonials

"Thank you for graciously giving of your whole heart, soul, and resources at the Chesed Center. You are an answer to my prayers. In my hour of need you mercifully give delicious food and excellent household products. May Hashem bless you with shalom, simcha, and prosperity."

"Thank you so much!  Your packages, and the consideration you invest in the distribution, are so helpful and appreciated!"

"We just wanted to let you know that all went well with our deliveries yesterday. The two young women at the Center were so helpful, kind, professional, and really strong. The food donations were very generous. We were so impressed with the entire operation and happy to be included." -Volunteers

"I just wanted to reach out to you this morning to tell you that my family will no longer be needing the services of the Chesed Center. We have tremendous gratitude  to you and your organization for being there for us during the last 8-9 months, since my husband lost his job due to COVID. You were a true messenger from Hashem and we couldn’t have done it without you. May Hashem  bless you and your organization so that you can continue to help those in need in our community. And may our family, in the future, have the privilege to be on the giving end rather than the taking."

"The Chesed Center did a chesed for me and my family in the truest sense of the word. The first time I went to the Chesed Center it was with a lot of embarrassment and shame. However, I was greeted with a warm smile and the assurance that everything would be handled with the utmost confidentiality. Each time I visited, I felt like my dignity was able to remain intact. The household goods, pantry items and fresh produce really helped my family when things were tight. Thank you so much to the Chesed Center and to all those who work there for helping out with warmth and sensitivity!"

Supplementary Programs

Throughout the year, we offer supplementary programs centered around financial "crunch" times for our clients.  We recognize that the additional financial requirements associated with holidays, the start of the school year, summer camp, etc. can cause stress for even the most budgeted family.

Programs include:

  • Passover Food Packages
  • School supply and uniform distributions
  • Winter coat distributions
  • Seasonal items offered with monthly shopping
  • Financial literacy support for families

* If your household income is over 200% FPIG, but you would like assistance, please fill out our intake form and someone will contact you regarding your eligibility.

**  Produce distributions are currently on a drive-through model, in the parking lot in the rear of our building.
